CHC Urges Governor to Sign SB375

Following our September Newsletter feature on Senate President-Elect Darrell Steinberg’s land use measure known as SB375, the bill was passed in the legislature this week and is now headed to the Governor.  CHC has sent the attached letter urging Governor Schwarzenegger to sign this landmark bill into law.

Santa Cruz Housing Authority Seeks Executive Director

Situated at the northern tip of the picturesque Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz
County with a population of 254,538 residents, is located 65 miles south of
San Francisco, 35 miles north of Monterey, and 35 miles southwest of San

CHC Urges Legislators to Spare Redevelopment Funding as Budget Deficit Solution

As State Legislators look for a way out of the budget impasse, CHC is urging our representatives to reject any proposals to take redevelopment funding.  Redevelopment agencies throughout the state leverage their tax increment funding with unprecedented Prop 1C TOD and infill support in order to create critical incentives for building new affordable housing near jobs and transit.  (For a copy of CHC’s letter, please click this link to our Policy Update page)
