At the NHC-CHC Policy Forum held April 27, 2006 in Los Angeles, Session I focused on housing and transportations in California and across the country. Haya El Nasser of USA Today moderated the panel which included Martin Wachs, now with the RAND Corp., who described research finding by NHC's Center for Housing Policy and others showing:

CHC hosted its 2005 Fall Forum in Los Angeles on October 11. Dedicated to the critical preservation of catalytic state funding for affordable housing development, the event featured a diverse set of panelists and moderators. In addition to keeping the affordable housing community informed of the status of sustaining housing funding in the short-term, the forum provided an opportunity to lay out the challenges and opportunities in achieving a permanent housing trust fund over the long-term.
