PMIB Letters Needed Now

With the PMIB meeting scheduled for this coming Wednesday, March 18 at 2 pm in Sacramento, it is important for us to continue to emphasize the importance affordable housing plays in our economy.  Please see below to download a sample letter that you can use to send to the three PMIB members:

CHC Urges Action on PMIB Freeze

The Pooled Money Investment Board (PMIB) will be meeting in Sacramento on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm at 1500 11th Street, 1st Floor Auditorium.  At about 9:30 am, the affordable housing contingency will gather outside the auditorium to coordinate.

CHC Urges Action on Economic Stimulus Plan

The House and Senate are currently conferencing on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  California Housing Consortium has signed onto the attached letter promoted by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and other national and local affordable housing organizations urging Congress to include $2-$5 billion in capital and other tax credit provisions all aimed at promoting the production of much needed affordable housing.

CHC Letter to Congress in Support of LIHTC Provisions

As you know, the affordable housing industry has been providing its input into the crafting of the upcoming Economic Stimulus Bill to ensure that it includes provisions that will aid the continued use of Low Income Housing Tax Credits.  Attached is a letter that CHC sent to key legislators in both the House and Senate.  You may want to use it as a template to craft your own letter to send to your representatives.

CHC Urges Restoration of Funding

Today, the California Housing Consortium urged Governor Schwarzenegger and other members of Congress to solve the budget stalemate and restore funding to thousands of housing and infrastructure projects statewide. Housing Bill Signed by President

UPDATE 8/4/08:  On Thursday, July 31, President Bush signed one of the most important federal housing policies in a generation. A full menu of support for the housing sector includes measures to address the foreclosure and credit crisis, provide new oversight and structural reforms for the GSEs, revise and improve LIHTC regulations, increase bonding capacity, and create a national housing trust fund.
