PMIB Meeting Update

CHC Opposes SB16

This week, CHC strongly voiced its opposition to SB16. While this urgency measure responds to the recent meltdown in the national financial market by making the State’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit refundable, it opens up a Pandora’s box of litigation over the payment of prevailing wages.  CHC has previously opposed measures that require the payment of prevailing wages.

CHC Letter to Congress in Support of LIHTC Provisions

As you know, the affordable housing industry has been providing its input into the crafting of the upcoming Economic Stimulus Bill to ensure that it includes provisions that will aid the continued use of Low Income Housing Tax Credits.  Attached is a letter that CHC sent to key legislators in both the House and Senate.  You may want to use it as a template to craft your own letter to send to your representatives.

CHC Urges Restoration of Funding

Today, the California Housing Consortium urged Governor Schwarzenegger and other members of Congress to solve the budget stalemate and restore funding to thousands of housing and infrastructure projects statewide.
