National Low Income Housing Coalition Releases the 2017 ‘Out of Reach’ Report Detailing the Unaffordability of Housing in America, Especially in California

If you make the minimum wage in California, you have to work 118 hours per week just to be able to afford the rent and utilities on a modest two-bedroom apartment. CA’s housing situation is dire, as the report finds 7/10 US counties with least affordable rental homes are in CA. We need legislation to increase investments to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (like S.548), as well as State-level investment into affordable rental housing (like SB2 & AB71).
